Melanie and Toby’s wedding at the historic Swan London was a day filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments. As a Swan London wedding photographer, I had the privilege of capturing every detail of their riverside celebration — from the quiet anticipation of morning preparations to the joy of the evening festivities.
The Historical Venue: Swan London
Set along the riverside beside Shakespeare’s Globe, The Swan London is one of the most iconic London wedding venues. Offering sweeping views across the Thames toward St Paul’s Cathedral. A Swan London wedding immediately feels both historic and elegant.
Inside, the tall windows and refined interiors create bright, open spaces. As a result, the soft natural light works beautifully for wedding photography from morning to evening. Complimented by the clean architectural lines of the building that add a timeless look to every room.
Altogether, The Swan London provides a stunning and seamless setting for couples who want a visually striking wedding in the heart of the city.

1. Bridal & Groom Morning Preparations
It all started with the couple getting ready in separate suites at the incredible London Sea Containers hotel. With close friends and family gathered around, the atmosphere created the ideal opportunity for me to capture those quiet, intimate moments before the celebration began. From the final touches of hair and makeup to tying ties and fastening cufflinks, the excitement built on both sides.

2. A Heartfelt Ceremony at the Swan London
The ceremony at the Swan was an intimate and elegant celebration, filled with anticipation and joy. As an experienced wedding photographer, I’m passionate about capturing emotional, story-driven moments in every image. From the delicate floral details to the genuine, unscripted connections between the couple and their loved ones, I strive to preserve each element that makes a wedding day unforgettable. From a shared glance to a comforting hug, these fleeting interactions tell the real story of the day.

3. Drinks Reception and Afternoon Tea
After the ceremony, the couple and their guests moved into the drinks reception, where laughter and lively conversation filled the air. It’s in these moments that my skills in documentary wedding photography truly comes to life. As I move through the room, I capture real connections between friends and family, from heartfelt congratulations to shared laughter and quiet, intimate moments. At the same time, each smile, hug, and toast becomes part of the day’s story.
Whist capturing peoples moments, I also look to capture every aspect of the day. I take photos of the table settings and food, which add texture, atmosphere, and depth to the celebration.

4. Capturing Moments on a Walk Up the Thames
The newly wedded couple and I stepped outside for their private portrait session along the River Thames. These quiet moments are always my favourite part of the day, giving the couple a chance to step away from the buzz and simply enjoy being together. At this intimate time, I subtly encourage natural interactions, ensuring the photos feel authentic and unforced.
London’s soft, overcast light made it easy to capture the elegant details of the bride’s intricately beaded gown and the groom’s classic navy suit. I also took the opportunity to photograph intimate shots of their rings, bouquet, and the surrounding atmosphere.

5. The Final Celebrations!
This part of the night is where my candid wedding photography truly shines. I focused on documenting the interactions that make a London wedding reception come alive. From the energy and movement to the unscripted, genuine moments between the couple and their guests. Staying late into the night and loving every minute.
